About the producer
This family-run estate is located at the base of the Cévennes mountains in the little-known Côtes de Thongue district. Jacques and Françoise Boyer make a range of high quality, value-priced reds and whites that are notable for their integration of fruit and oak-driven flavors. The village of Puissalicon is their base, and their vineyards are planted in a mix of clay-, limestone- and gravel-based soils. The Boyers' best efforts in 2006 are the Cascaillou bottling, a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre that was aged eight months in large wooden vats, and the Red No. 7, which includes seven red grapes, adding Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to a mix of classic southern French varieties.
